We are thankful for so many things this year! We enjoyed learning about pilgrims and native Americans and hearing the story of the first Thanksgiving. We enjoyed making our own pilgrim hats to wear on singing day. We also worked very hard on our decorations for our Thanksgiving lunch. We learned about cornicopias and had a great time creating them horns using Trader Joe's bags. We used construction paper and a combination of recycled materials to create all the vegetables and fruits that we filled inside. We were so thankful to be able to sit down together and enjoy a delicious and nutricious Thanksgiving meal prepared by our teachers. A very special thanks to our students who cooked our cornbread and helped chop all the vegetables for our Thanksgiving stuffing.
Thank you to Narita Dentist for visiting our school and reminding us why it is important to take good care of our teeth!
It's not quite time for enjoying turkey dinner yet. But we were all very thankful for our delicious imonikai! We enjoyed learning how to chop vegetables slowly and carefully. It was exciting to witness and experience the whole cooking process from chopping the raw vegetables to cooking and eating a delicious soup! Special thanks to Mrs. Sullivan for introducing us to a wonderfully fun Thanksgiving snack that we enjoyed making and eating! Using Hawaiian King rolls, pretzels, grapes, and colorful cereal we made small edible snacks in the shape of turkeys!
Thank you so much to our local firefighters for stopping by and teaching us about fire safety, fire equipment, and showing us their exciting fire truck!! We all learned a lot and had a wonderful time, especially Miss Gloria!
